Day 1: Arrival in Leh

Day 2: Leh (Local sightseeing)

After breakfast, go sightseeing on the Leh-Srinagar Highway. The sightseeing tour will begin with a walk through Old Leh, popularly known as the “Kharyog” or “Palace Below” due to its location beneath the Leh Palace. The tour will take you around “Chutay Rantak,” a well-known bakeries street in Leh. You will also see Gurudwara Datun Sahib, which was built on the site of a tree called after a local deity, “Gtsung Tor.” After the walking tour, we will visit the Hall of Fame, a museum maintained by the Indian Army that showcases their power during many conflicts. We will also visit the Kali Mata Temple and Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, which were erected to commemorate Guru Nanak Dev’s visit to this location.

Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley (125 km/5-6 hrs. one way)

After breakfast, drive to Nubra Valley, often known as the Valley of Flowers and the warmest location in Ladakh, via Khardungla Pass. This road is regarded as the highest motorable road in the world. Enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountain peaks surrounding Khardungla Pass (18,390 feet).

Day 04: Nubra to Pangong via Shyok (approx. 130 km/5-6 hours one way)

We’ll start the day by taking the same route towards Leh till we reach Khalsar. To reach Shyok and Durbuk villages, use the left road after crossing the Agyam Bridge. This route is rarely used for commuting, resulting in minimal traffic on any given day. Some patches are awful, but the overall experience will be wonderful. The road following Shyok is fine, but extremely steep. After Durbuk, turn left towards Tangtse and follow the traditional route. Drive to Pangong Lake, one of the Himalayas’ largest and most stunning natural brackish lakes. Located at 14000 feet, more than half of the lake is in Chinese territory, while only one-third is in India. Explore the lake region and spot unique creatures. (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)

Day 5: Pangong Lake to Stok (140 kilometres/5-6 hours one way)

After breakfast, return to Stok. While travelling, stop at Changla Pass for a cup of hot tea. Visit Hemis Monastery, Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace, then return to Stok. The 14th-century Stok Monastery, located 15 km from Leh, features a 71-foot (22-meter) tall Gautama Buddha statue that was built between 2012 and 2015 and blessed by the Dalai Lama on August 8, 2016. The former royal family of Ladakh currently reside at Stok’s 19th century palace. The palace museum houses the Ladakhi king’s shrine, crown, ceremonial robe, and jewellery.After checking in, you will be transported to a heritage residence for a traditional Ladakhi lunch. En-route beautiful mountain ranges and village-like. The Ladakh Scouts, a rear-department of the Indian Army, primarily control this region. The Indian Army recovered the border settlement in 1971. Locals have relatives over the Line of Control and primarily cultivate vegetables and apricots, as well as provide mules and porters. Baltistan is a beautiful village with charming inhabitants. On December 13, 1971, the people went to sleep in Pakistan. The following morning, they awoke in India. In Turtuk, a peasant recalls the history of Ladakh, an isolated northwest area that was once part of Baltistan in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. A full-day rough tour includes a visit to India’s northernmost settlements, Tyakshi and Thang, before returning to Nubra Valley in the evening. Overnight stay at a Nubra camp or hotel. Day 5: Nubra to Pangong via Shyok (130 km/5-6 hours approx. one way)

Our day will begin with a visit to Sumur Village’s Samstanling Monastery, which was founded 140 years ago. Next, we’ll take the same route from Leh to Pangong Lake, eventually arriving in Khalsar. The lake, located at an elevation of 4,522 m (14,836 ft), is one of the highest saltwater lakes in India. The beautiful scenery at the sacred blue lake creates a lovely atmosphere. The exotic migratory birds over the lake create a wonderful atmosphere, while the mountains and hills provide tranquil reflections that provide peace to the soul. The lake’s changing hues will rekindle your love of nature. Tso Moriri is a wonderful site for experiencing the breathtaking grandeur of Ladakh.

Lamayuru provides a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere, a Buddhist town, a strong Ladakhi culture, a moonland landscape, a centuries-old monastery, and more to complete a full Ladakh journey.

After breakfast, head to Lamayuru, often known as the “Moonland of Ladakh” because of its uneven terrain and unique rock formations. You will visit Alchi Monastery and eat lunch at a modern restaurant that serves authentic Ladakhi cuisine. After lunch, head to Lamayuru village. After checking in and relaxing, you’ll explore the Lamayuru Monastery, Meditation Hill, and Moonland Rocks. Stay overnight in Lamayuru.

DAY 4: LEH-CHUMATHANG

Have you ever been to a new place and thought ‘wow’? If not, it will definitely happen in Chumathang. Chumathang may not be as popular as other cities, but don’t be fooled. Chumathang is a charming village that is worth visiting. Visit the hot springs that merge with the Indus River and take an outdoor steam bath.

After a peaceful morning, we will go to Chumathang via Tanglangla Pass. Take a stroll through this charming village and discover its hidden gems. Stay overnight in Chumathang. (breakfast, dinner)

Day 5: Chumathang – Puga and Tso Kar Lake – Leh

Puga Valley is located in Changthang Valley, in the south-east of Ladakh. The region is significant for its natural beauty and geothermal activity. Puga is also known for its hot sulphur springs. The region possesses abundant geothermal energy, including sulphur and borax deposits, mud pools, and hot springs. This 30-kilometer-long valley is ideal for environment enthusiasts, offering views of snow-capped mountains, forests, stones, salt deposits, and more. It is an ideal location for photography. Wildlife in the area includes sheep, yaks, bar-headed geese, brahminy ducks, black-necked cranes, and more.

Tso Kar is a salt lake that fluctuates in the Rupshu Plateau of Ladakh Valley. The White Lake is named after the white salt deposits found on its shores. Tso Kar’s diverse flora and fauna attract a large number of bird watchers, particularly during migration season. Common birds found here include Brahmin ducks, bar-headed geese, and great crested grebes. The major attraction is the black-necked crane. The black-necked cranes, noted for their loyalty, visit Tso Kar to lay eggs. There are only a few yak barns, a monastery, and a couple of nomadic households in the area. The view of the lake at night in the moonlight is even more breathtaking.

DAY 6 LEH-STOK (15 KMS)

Stok hamlet (15 km from Leh) is home to the 14th century Stok Monastery and its 71 foot (22 m) high seated Gautama Buddha statue, which was created between 2012-2015 and blessed by the Dalai Lama on August 8, 2016. The old royal family of Ladakh still lives in the 19th-century palace in Stok.

The palace museum houses the Ladakhi king’s shrine, crown, ceremonial robe, and jewellery. During the day, you will have free time to explore the village. During the day, you will stay in a 100-year-old heritage residence and eat authentic Ladakhi cuisine. During your stay, you can explore the museum, which showcases the rich cultural history.
